The revision to Chapter 20 of the Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) has eliminated the listings of deficiencies and instead focuses on expectations when an audit is conducted by the Independent Office of Audits and Investigations or their contractor, details the roles and responsibilities during the audit, potential findings and sanctions, common deficiencies, and recommended internal controls to improve compliance.
