The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Local Assistance has been collaborating with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to reduce the number of inactive projects; especially those that have not been reimbursed for 24 months or greater with an unexpended federal funds balance of $50,000 or more. Local agencies are expected to invoice Caltrans regularly for projects in accordance with 23 CFR 630.106.
Please review the documents listed below for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2022 Quarter 1 (Q1) and work with your District Local Assistance Engineer (DLAE) to invoice or provide justification for the projects in the Repeat Inactive List before November 5, 2021.
