FAS: Project Development: Design to Construction
March 1-2, 2022
The Project Development course continues discussion of step-by-step procedures for project development and focusses on Chapters 11, 12, and 15 of the Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM). This includes how to balance increased local responsibilities with increased procedural flexibility. Completion of “Getting Your Federal-Aid Project Started” is recommended before taking this course.

FAS: Federal Rules for Contract Administration & Project Completion
March 8-9, 2022
This course focuses on procedures to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance during the actual construction phase, including some discussion of the resident engineer’s or inspector’s responsibility to identify deviations from project specifications. Completion of “Getting Your Federal-Aid Project Started” is recommended before taking this course.

FAS: Environmental Requirements
March 15-16, 2022
This course focuses on the rules that must be followed to comply with requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act and other Federal Environmental Laws for local agency federal-aid transportation projects ‘off’ the State Highway System. Completion of “Getting Your Federal-Aid Project Started” is recommended before taking this course.

FHWA Appraisal Workshop
March 15-17, 2022
This workshop covers the proper procedures and guidelines for conducting the appraisal process under the requirement of the Uniform Act and Part 24 in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations. This workshop explains the basic Uniform Act acquisition requirements including the offer of just compensation. The course discusses the relationship of the acquisition and relocation processes as it relates to tenants.
