Immediate Action Required for Inactive Projects >24 months

Invoice or Provide Justification by July 12, 2022

The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Local Assistance has been collaborating with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to reduce the number of inactive projects, especially those that have not been reimbursed for 24 months or greater with an unexpended federal funds of $50,000 or more. Local agencies are expected to invoice Caltrans regularly for projects in accordance with Section 630.106(a)(5) in Title 23 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Please view the documents listed below, and located on the Caltrans Inactive Project webpage, for details regarding greater than 24 months for Federal Fiscal Year Quarter 4 (FFY22 Q4). Please work with your District Local Assistance Engineer (DLAE) to invoice or to provide justification for the projects in the Repeat Inactive List before July 12, 2022.
