FHWA will host a Value Capture webinar on Innovative Approaches to offset operating and maintenance expenses such as revenue generated from advertising, sponsorships, and naming rights. The program will include case studies from highway and transit modes. Many states, cities, and municipalities are increasingly looking for ways to generate revenues and sponsorships from corporation and communities to save taxpayer money while keeping the highways clean, free from litter, and offset operating and maintenance expenses. Contributions may range from fund raising activities, volunteers, or corporate sponsorships of a special event and/or the purchase of naming rights from a public owned facility for a period of time. The webinar features speakers from both highway and transit modes, including a member from FHWA’s Every Day Counts Year 5 Value Capture Innovation team and presenters who have successfully used innovative strategies to generate revenue such as highway sponsorships, advertising, and naming rights.
Advertising and naming rights are largely an untapped potential revenue source that can be used to fund transportation projects. It can be used in a wide range of settings, including urban, rural, and suburban environments to help fund capital projects and operations and maintenance. If your State or local transportation organization is looking for non-traditional ways to generate non-tax and non-toll revenue to help pay for operating and maintenance expenses, come join the Value Capture Webinar on December 6, 2023, to learn how Value Capture Strategies can help your community. Certificates of Completion and Confirmation of Attendance are available! We look forward to your participation in our webinars.
