• Support for Rural Grant Applicants
The revised Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit for Competitive Federal Transportation Funding helps potential applicants identify and navigate discretionary grant opportunities for rural transportation projects. The Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit provides an overview of key activities in the federal discretionary grants process, as well as resources to help rural applicants maximize their potential for award success. Developed as part of the Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success (ROUTES) Initiative, the Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit complements the recently released DOT Discretionary Grants Dashboard to help rural communities identify discretionary grant opportunities that fit their unique transportation needs. The toolkit is the focus of the December 5th DOT Navigator webinar.
USDOT is advancing vital transportation projects in underserved communities across the United States by awarding 13 grants totaling $3.4 million through the new Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program (RTA). Administered by the Build America Bureau, the RTA grant program supports early-stage development of transportation solutions in rural and Tribal communities with grants funding technical, legal, and financial assistance.
