California Connectivity and Crossings Conference 2024
October 1-2, 2024
UC Davis Conference Center
California is one of the most biodiverse states in the country, has a high density of ecologists and wildlife biologists, as well as among the nation’s largest transportation and conservation budgets. New public attention and federal and state funding will provide more opportunities to connect habitat for California wildlife and reduce their mortality, by advancing wildlife fencing and crossing structures over and under roads.
This conference was created to fill a gap in that a large conference on habitat connectivity for the state has not been held for over a decade. The intent of this conference is to bring together community and professional scientists, students, volunteers, policy-makers and practitioners to share research and findings, discuss information gaps and needs, and present examples of how to navigate and fund connectivity solutions to help restore wildlife connectivity across California.
Keynote Speakers
Ben Goldfarb – Environmental journalist and author of “Crossings”
Beth Pratt – National Wildlife Federation and co-organizer of the Walli-Annenberg Wildlife Crossing
For CA, OR, NV, AZ, and WA colleagues, to submit ideas for a poster presentation, please send abstracts to fmshilling@ucdavis.edu by June 1, 2024.
