Caltrans Safety Programs and California Highway Patrol are jointly providing a free in-person, three-hour Speed Limit Workshop to assist Caltrans Headquarters and Districts, local public agencies, law enforcement, and private consultants.
This workshop provides a basic knowledge and resources of setting speed limit and knowledge of enforcement of speed limits in California. At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to apply the general principles for setting speed limits and performing an Engineering and Traffic Survey, including the role of law enforcement and enforcement strategies.
Cities and counties are responsible for their travel expenses. There is no course fee for this workshop. Virtual Speed Limit workshops (same as what will be presented in June) will also be provided later in the year, as well as an in-person training in Southern California. Full details to be provided at a later date.
