Webinar: FHWA Road Weather Spotlight – Preparing for the Winter

The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA’s) Office of Operations is collaborating with the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) to host the Preparing for the Winter Weather Season webinar. In anticipation of the upcoming winter season. Speakers will highlight recent advancements in winter maintenance operations, available products and strategies, and examples of agency adoption and associated impacts.

Speakers:
• Darcy Bullock: Lyles Family Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University and serves as the director of the institution’s Joint Transportation Research Program with the Indiana Department of Transportation.
• Robin Barfield: Director of Safety and Risk Management at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Roles involve strategic oversight of safety training, risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration programs.
• Eric Guillot: Meteorologist and project manager supporting the National Weather Service (NWS). Winter program coordinator and responsible for research on operations activities and training needs related to winter for field forecasters.
