Innovative Tools for Transportation Data Collection and Sharing in Tribal Communities
November 21, 2024
10:00 am – 11:30 am PT
In recognition of Native American Heritage month, this webinar showcases innovative tools being used in Tribal communities for data collection in transportation planning and data sharing in construction management. Participants will hear from the Northern Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) Center on results from a recently completed innovation project with the Northern Cheyenne and Crow nations using digital video recorders to collect network data. This data collection technology will be demonstrated, as well as how the data can be used to assess roadway safety vulnerabilities with International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) Star Rating protocols, which provide an objective measure of safety levels ‘built in’ to the road for vehicle occupants, motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
This session will also provide an overview of best practices in construction bidding and contract administration technology. The Cherokee nation will share how working with a research group has assisted Tribal and local organizations with efficiently managing and reporting on projects.
Registration is required.
The FHWA Center for Local Aid Support will provide a certificate of participation and a link to the recording post webinar. Simply select “yes” when prompted during registration.
