The Sacramento American of Public Works Association (APWA) Chapter is sponsoring the Asphalt Pavement Technology & Material Tests workshop through California State University Chico. The three-day workshop aims to facilitate transportation workforce development by providing state-of-art training for asphalt technology and pavement material testing on aggregates, asphalt binders, and asphalt mixtures, following American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Caltrans test methods.
Workshop Topics
• Hands-on Laboratory Testing (10 tests in 3 days)
• Road Pothole Patching
• Field Tour at an Asphalt Production Plant
Participants
This workshop is designed for entry-level engineers from industry, and local agencies in Northern California are welcome to attend. This workshop will host 10-15 participants in late May or early June 2025, along with current potential students from Butte College, Feather River College, Woodland College, Shasta College, Yuba College, Chico State, Sac State, UC Davis, University of the Pacific, and other colleges.
